We are looking for a permanent full time HGV Mechanic to join our busy team at our workshop facility in Lerwick.
The work is varied and key responsibilities include the maintenance and repair of heavy and large goods vehicles, some of which are specialist in nature as well as light vehicles and plant.
Experience in auto electrics, hydraulics, diagnostics and fabrication work as well as completing vehicle safety inspections would be an advantage, although training will be given for the right applicant.
You will be self-motivated with a disciplined work ethic and have a proven ability of using your initiative to ensure tasks are completed safely and on time. You should have a good general standard of education including literacy and numeracy and be trained and certified in mechanical engineering by such a recognised body such as City and Guilds, SQA or SCOTVEC
A ‘B’ class (car) driving licence is essential and a ‘C’ class LGV driving licence is desirable.
