Shetland

In addition to being the consolidation point in Shetland for our customers’ freight destined for markets elsewhere, it is also where inbound freight is unpacked for delivery throughout the islands. Several additional local services including commercial vehicle maintenance, skip hire, warehousing and crane trucks can be accessed directly from this depot.

The premises in Gremista, Lerwick, where Northwards was first established, are conveniently located for the ferry terminal and include offices, warehouses, storage yards, the commercial vehicle workshop and DVSA authorised testing facility.

We employ over 40 people locally at our Anderson Base, including the commercial management and accounts team, freight coordinators, drivers and mechanics. All with a useful insight and knowledge of the local community.

To ensure that freight is collected and distributed efficiently there are 18 vehicles based locally including vans, flatbeds, skip trucks, crane trucks and artics.
