FREIGHT COORDINATOR

We have an exciting opportunity for a Freight Coordinator to join our logistics team at our Shetland Depot.

Our Freight Coordinators play a key role in supporting our logistics operations and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Creating and managing bookings in the traffic management system, ensuring timely and accurate processing
  • Preparing relevant shipping documentation, including invoices, purchase orders and proof of delivery notes
  • Updating the traffic management system with shipment tracking information and maintaining accurate proof of delivery documentation
  • Providing excellent customer service by responding to customer enquiries efficiently and professionally
  • Communicating and working effectively with colleagues across our internal depot network to provide updates on the movement of freight
  • Using Microsoft Word and Excel for data entry and reporting purposes
  • Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, protocols and schedules
  • Adhering to company health and safety regulations and standards.

Skills and Requirements

  • Strong IT skills and ability to work effectively from multiple computer systems
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to working with new systems
  • Working knowledge of health and safety practices and principles.
