LOGISTICS NIGHTSHIFT SUPERVISOR (50 hours per week)

Full time – Monday – Friday, 8pm to 6am

Northwards has an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Nightshift Supervisor to join our team based at the Cumbernauld depot.

The Logistics Nightshift Supervisor will be overseeing and managing all company transport and logistics operations during the nightshift, ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant movement of all vehicles on the road. The role includes supervising night operations, resolving issues, and ensuring accurate handovers are provided to depot day staff for continuity and performance tracking.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Fleet Oversight – Scotland mainland night shift operations

  • Monitor and coordinate all company vehicles in transit during night hours, primarily HGVs
  • Use tracking systems to ensure vehicles operate according to schedule and route plans
  • Liaise with customers and partner network to confirm timely arrivals and departures

Operational Coordination

  • Act as the central point of contact for all transport-related matters during the night shift
  • Respond to and resolve operations issues, delays, or incidents as they arise
  • Handle out-of-hours calls and urgent communications

Compliance & Safety

  • Enforce and adhere to compliance with transport legislation, company policies, and health & safety standards
  • Investigate and report incidents, accidents, or policy breaches occurring during night operations
  • Adhere to site safety rules

Communication & Reporting

  • Maintain clear communication with drivers, depot teams, and relevant departments
  • Compile detailed shift reports covering vehicle status, incidents, and operational updates for day team
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate manager or department

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and recommend improvements to nightshift transport operations
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence
